MEDA – Jordan Valley Links Project 2018-2020
Jordan Valley Links – Clean Technology project aims to build the capacity of women and youth in the Jordan Valley to become clean technology entrepreneurs and freelancers. To achieve this, project activities will support women and youth to develop technical and soft skills and create market linkages in the clean technology sector. This project will adopt a three-prong approach that will seek to increase the economic participation of women/youth and inspire behavioral changes within the community regarding the use/adoption of clean technologies. This three-prong approach will include the following elements: RE/EE, Agriculture, and Awareness.
The project targets 500 women and youth for training on technical clean technology market opportunities, 150 women and youth for training on sales/marketing of RE/EE technologies, and 500 skilled entrepreneurs and freelancers for training on utilizing CT sector opportunities. The project plans to also develop an Online Business Connections Application that assists in building relations in the supply chain and developing/launching of 3 Community Engagement Plans as well as training 60 Community Influencers on ToT Awareness and launching an awareness campaign in the 3 targeted municipalities. In addition, the project plans on supporting 20 Savings and Loans Groups (SLGs) in the selected municipalities and developing/ promoting 2 financial green products.
